On July 15, 2010, Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate construction of its new Oklahoma
home.
The new 70,000-square-foot facility will serve as DLO’s clinical reference laboratory and administrative home for the entire state of Oklahoma. Nearly 300 of the company’s 780 Oklahoma employees will work at the location, which is expected to open its doors in August of 2011.
“This new facility is not only an asset for DLO, but it’s an asset for Oklahoma patients, physicians and all healthcare professionals,” said Bill Mosteller, Managing Director, DLO. “It provides us with room for continued growth and gives us the ability to deliver more cutting-edge technology. And by having our clinical and administrative operations under one roof, it will improve operational efficiencies.”
Speaking at the ceremony was Wayne Simmons, Vice President, Operations, Quest Diagnostics; Bruce Lawrence, Chief Executive Officer, INTEGRIS Health; Kevin Rodgers, Executive Director, Reaching Our City, INC; and Boyd Shook, M.D., Director, Manos Juntas Foundation.
The property is being developed by Turner and Company. The architects on the project are Bockus Payne Associates Architects.
DLO is proud to announce the opening of two new Patient Service Centers (PSCs) in Norman and Shawnee. The opening of these two locations brings the total number of DLO managed draw sites in the Oklahoma to 43 locations.
The Norman PSC is located inside the Tacoma Building at 3201 W. Tecumseh Rd, Suite 101. The Shawnee location is located at 3700 N. Kickapoo, Suite 100.
“As an Oklahoma laboratory, our aim is to provide fast, friendly and convenient service to as many patients as possible. Expanding in these two areas helps us accomplish this goal,” said Bill Mosteller, DLO Managing Director.
The Patient Service Center, a DLO location where physicians send patients to have lab work drawn and collected, is expected to serve nearly 200 patients each week. Because the center specializes in collecting lab work, it provides patients with a fast and convenient collection facility. To find a DLO location or draw site near you, visit the lab locater.
