Choose to Know through DLO
DLO is committed to positively impacting the lives of our patients. That’s why DLO has developed “Choose to Know through DLO”. This new effort provides both patients and healthcare providers with information on diagnostic test recommendations from leading disease prevention organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), the American Heart Association (AHA) and more. Rather than focus on a specific specialty such as women’s health, Choose to Know will concentrate on the patient and provider education, promoting healthy lifestyles and the importance of having a proactive approach to healthcare.
The information found in Choose to Know is divided into two segments; one for patients and one for healthcare providers. The patient information demographically targets specific ethnic groups to educate Oklahomans on health conditions, suggested testing guidelines, and the laboratory tests available. In addition to DLO's website, these materials will be readily available in all of our Patient Service Centers throughout the state to encourage patients to have a more educated discussion with their providers about the various recommended tests. The provider information is designed to complement the patient messaging and consists of Oklahoma-specific statistical health data, guidelines on certain disease states, demographical targeting, and DLO’s available diagnostic tests.
