Commonly Asked Questions

  1. Will the Lp-PLA2 tests that I have already sent to DLO be affected?
For tests submitted by June 21, 2016, you should receive all test results as expected. The closing of Diadexus occurred on June 13 and Quest Diagnostics was able to continue to run the test using existing inventory from Diadexus. Quest anticipated the existing inventory would be depleted by June 22. Samples for Lp-PLA2 sent in after the depletion of our Diadexus inventory will be stored while we investigate alternatives that may allow us to offer a different version of the Lp-PLA2 test to associate with Cardio IQ. Once such an alternative becomes available that meets validation and stability requirements, you will be contacted with the option of submitting a new order for this test.
  2. Will I receive the rest of the testing I ordered with the Lp-PLA2 test or will there be a delay?
You will receive the results for any testing ordered with the Lp-PLA2 test in a timely fashion and in the usual manner. The only delay in results will occur with Lp-PLA2 testing ordered after Wednesday, June 22. Test code 14530 is longer available. Any test submitted under that test code will be TNP’d.
  3. How soon will you have an alternative ordering option for Lp-PLA2 testing available?
Quest Diagnostics is working to quickly develop an internal version of the Lp-PLA2 test. They are investigating alternatives that may allow DLO to offer a different version of the Lp-PLA2 test to associate with Cardio IQ. Once such an alternative becomes available that meets validation and stability requirements, you will be contacted with the option of submitting a new order for this test.
  4. How will you contact me when an alternative ordering option for Lp-PLA2 becomes available?
Staff members from DLO Customer Service will call you to determine if you want Quest Diagnostics to perform the updated Lp-PLA2 test on the stored sample and to request a new order. Once we have the order, we can complete the test and send the results in a timely fashion in the usual manner.
  5. I do not want to order Lp-PLA2 until you have the new test available, but the test is listed as a component in my current custom panel or the Cardio IQ® 92527 Advanced Lipid with Inflammation panel. What should I do?
Please call your DLO Account Executive to assist you in creating a new custom panel that does not include Lp-PLA2. Alternatively, you have the option to continue utilizing existing codes. We will store the Lp-PLA2 test blood to run once an alternative ordering option for Lp-PLA2 becomes available.
