DLO is a College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited laboratory. In addition to CAP accreditation, DLO retains a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) Certificate of Accreditation issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and is eligible for participation in federally funded programs administered by CMS.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the College of American Pathologists (CAP) has experienced a delay in inspections. Until an inspection can occur, CAP has certified that DLO remains accredited and has provided a letter stating this for the record.
CMS has approved DLO to perform examinations in the following specialties/sub-specialties:
- ABO & RH Group
- Antibody, Non-Transfusion
- General Immunology
- Routine Chemistry
- Syphilis Serology
DLO's Cytology department is also CAP accredited and holds a CLIA Certificate of Accreditation issued by the CMS.
DLO HLA Lab
DLO's Transplant Immunology Lab, which provides human leukocyte antigen (HLA) typing for the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys and pancreas, is also CAP accredited, holds a CLIA Certificate of Accreditation issued by CMS, and has a Certificate of Accreditation from The American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI).
