Supply: T59 - Lavender 4 mL Blood Tube
Preferred Specimen: Whole blood in a full EDTA (lavender-top) tube
Preferred Volume: 4 mL
Minimum Volume: Microtainer 500 uL ∗ 1 mL whole blood from an EDTA (lavender-tube)
Collection Instructions: If multiple draw, collect EDTA (lavender-top) tube last. Mix by gently inverting 8 times. Traumatic tap can introduce thromboplastin and trap White Blood Cells and platelets. Refrigeration can precipitate fibrin and trap White Blood Cells and platelets. Maintain specimen at room temperature. Do not refrigerate.

- Frozen: Unstable
Reject Criteria:
- Clotted specimens
- Specimens received frozen
- Specimens grossly hemolyzed
- Specimens where quantity is not sufficient
- Specimens greater than 48 hours old.
